Hibiscus is a tropical herb which has many curative and therapeutic virtues. Studies have revealed that hibiscus is a good medicine for those who suffer from high blood pressure, anxiety, obesity, and liver problems. This is in addition to its benefits to the immune system. The herb also contains antioxidants and is full of vitamin C (in countries such as Sudan it is a typical medicine for winter flu and cold). The dark red herb grows in Asia, Africa (particularly Sudan and Egypt) and in other parts of the globe. Despite its bitter taste, hibiscus is served both as a cold drink and as tea as well. Although it has different names in different countries, “Roselle” is the universally used name.
